Welcome to the Home page of the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead. BURNING BAN NOTICEDue to the extreme dry conditions and the elevated risk of wild fires, please be advised that the Council of the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead is enacting a ban on setting any fires within the municipal boundary, including the LUD of Tyndall-garson, until further notice. Council also advises that residents exercise caution in the utilization of machinery, ATVs and power tools to prevent fires in this extremely dry period. Dated this 23rd day of May, 2013 RM of Brokenhead Burn SiteThe municipal burn site, located on Road 38E between Miles 74N and 75N, will be open for the season on the following days from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. May 18th and 25th The cost is $5.00 for the whole day's use. Only clean burnables such as grass clippings, branches and leaves will be accepted. Any dumping of garbage may result in the site closing. Brokenhead was incorporated in 1900 and is comprised of eight Townships, which encircle the Town of Beausejour. Situated in the rich eastern agricultural lands of Manitoba, Brokenhead offers many opportunities along the Brokenhead River to catch that Master Angler. For golfing and nature enthusiasts, the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead is the ideal place. The pristine Brokenhead River is great for boating, fishing, tubing and canoeing. There are two golf courses and numerous recreation parks situated along the Brokenhead River. The Rural Municipality offers camping facilities, snowmobile clubs, and many first class recreation and sports facilities. |
